Miriam Aczel

Researcher at the Centre for Environmental Policy – Imperial College London; Research Intern, University of East London
Based at UEL, the focus of Miriam’s internship within EURECA was on the environmental impact of data centre IT equipment. Miriam is a President’s PhD Scholar (2016 – 2019) at Imperial College London’s Center for Environmental Policy, pursuing a doctorate supervised by Karen Makuch. Her research interests are environmental and energy science and policy, particularly increasing energy efficiency while minimizing environmental and health impacts. Miriam’s doctoral research focuses on international regulation of shale gas extraction, and the environmental and public health impacts of hydraulic fracturing in the USA, UK, EU, and China. Miriam received her MSc in Environmental Technology (with Distinction) from Imperial College London and BA in Geography and Earth Science (with Distinction) from McGill University in Montreal.
