Details on maki’s two staff:
Marc-Andree Wolf (PhD in engineering) is co-owner and Managing Director of maki. He has close to 20 years of experience in the development and application of life cycle assessment and sustainability assessment on products. In the area of environmentally friendly data centers, he has prepared a series of reports for the European Commission's General Directorate CONNECT, among others on evaluating available energy and environment related KPIs of data centres, and on the enabling effect of ICT, as well has technically organised an expert workshop on the KPI topic. Kirana has developed, among others, reports on a comparison and evaluation of productrelated and of organisation related data centre environmental assessment standards and other guidance documents, and on life cycle data needs. As EURECA project partners, maki was in charge of developing the environmental assessment approach and the policy advice report, and has contributed to other developments. Prior to this, Marc worked on life-based manuals, data formats, and indicators as well as related policy support as a staff member at the European Commission‘s Joint Research Center (JRC) for almost 7 years. Kirana has written the first Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) guide, co-authored the Organization Environmental Footprint (OEF) guide, and coordinated and contributed to other developments, equally as EC JRC staff. Marc’s and Kirana‘s works are the underlying methodological and technical basis for the currently ongoing EU-wide PEF/OEF pilot studies in 26 product categories across all industries. These include the data centre relevant products UPS, IT equipment, and batteries. Kirana and Marc have been moreover Commision contractors as official reviewers of the screening studies, have implemented three supporting studies for industry, and are the official remodellers of the UPS representative products. Finally, maki is now one of the two consortium partners of the Commission‘s PEF/OEF technical support contractor during the transition phase 2018 to 2020.
