EURECA at DataCentres North Manchester 2017

EURECA will be represented at the DataCentres North Manchester conference and exhibition that will take place at the Emirates Old Trafford, on 15th February 2017. Dr Bashroush’s talk (taking place at 2:30pm) will provide an overview of the EURECA project and its public sector procurement innovation services. Additionally, the talk will highlight some of the early findings of the project.

Dr Bashroush will also serve on an expert panel discussion, on 14th February 2017 from 1:30pm to 2:00 pm. The panel will be discussing codes of practice & European standards, such as EN 50600 and ASHRAE 90.4, and their impact and implications on certification. The panel will be moderated by EURECA’s Mark Acton, and will have representatives from key European standardisation and certification bodies.

DCA (EURECA partner) CEO, Steve Hone, will also chair the sessions on 14th February 2017 from 11:40am to 12:30 pm. The session will be on ‘Broadening the Data Centre Offering’ by Mike Kelly from Datacentred, ‘What Brexit means to the Data Centre Sector’ by Emma Fryer from Tech UK and ‘Data Sovereignty Update’ by Mark Bailey from Charles Russell Speechlys, the sessions were well attended and provoked some great questions from the audience.

Steve will also take the opportunity to highlight the DCAs involvement in the EURECA project to delegates and explain the opportunity it offers to both those who operate a DC to server room within the public sector and also to suppliers who provide products and services to them.
