Policy-UK Forum: Developing the UK’s Cloud Sector

The DCA in conjunction with the EURECA Consortium would like to invite you to join us at the latest Policy-UK Forum to be held on the 28th June 2016 at the Royal Society of Chemistry, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London, W1J 0BA.

Steve Hone CEO of the DCA Data Centre Trade Association will be speaking at the event with particular focus on the benefits that can be gained from adopting and using the suite of tools being developed by the EURECA team in this 3year EU Commission endorsed project.

The objectives behind the project is to help public sector stakeholders better understand the role the data centre/server room plays in supporting the delivery of mission critical client services and the strong business case that exist both financial and environmental for utilising the tools and training available.

Key points:
Regulating the Cloud – latest thinking in creating a clear, confidence-inducing regulatory framework and the impact of the European General Data Protection Regulation on cloud service providers and users;

Cloud Confidence – how to counter continued privacy and security concerns and the potential liabilities of cloud operators for the content they store; and

Realising the benefits of Cloud for business – ways for organisations to realise the efficiency savings from the cloud, the costs involved and the challenges to getting senior management understand the benefits.
